Like, Monopolis meaning the One city, the Only city, when we know for a fact that it is a sprawling city, that it is expending all over the country - according to Sadia at least

Add the fact that Monopolis is the very first “character” that is introduced to us. Before anything else, before we can find out about the characters or the story, the very first thing we learn is that everything happens in Monopolis. There is no escape from it, there is no way for the characters to exist outside of it, no story can take place beyond the borders of the city - assuming there even are borders

Love love love the implication that there is nowhere else to go; Johnny and Cristal want to leave, they want to find a no man’s land, and it doesn’t exist. There isn’t a place that is not the city, because it is everywhere, it’s the only thing there is left

Also, call me a nerd, but the way it’s just called “la ville” by various characters reminds me a lot of how Rome was called Urbs (City in latin). Like. There is only One City. We don’t need to add anything else, because there is only one place that truly matters. It’s driving me insane

It made me start thinking about (I haven't read the Noel/Oscar fic(s) yet so I do apologize if I'm just repeating what's already been said) not only Noel and Oscar having to deal with not knowing where Arthur and John are or how they are and having to get through dealing with that with only each other, but also Arthur and John coming back all of a sudden and being so tired and beaten up that Arthur just like collapses and starts crying because they're both so happy to see Noel and Oscar and they immediately comfort Arthur and John and don't ask them anything yet because they're just so happy to see them again that they don't have time or want to be anything but concerned for them even though Arthur just fucked off somewhere with no explanation except "the horrors" sorry that wasn't a question and it's probably borderline incomprehensible, iv never used this before i just needed to write this down before I forgot honestly

what’s your favorite tllr chapter out of all of them?

out of the ones i’ve written and posted i definitely have to say chapter 14!!! it was my favorite to write and i feel like it turned out really well and definitely got reactions out of people hahaha :) it also was one of the first scenarios i imagined with dew and anton and like what really got me attached to them!

i also wanna say out of all the story arcs in tllr, my favorite is what i call the roadtrip arc because it involves anton sitting on a road next to a sewer drain and playing with the sewer rats in the rain. what a guy
